Could There Really Be A Diet For Dummies?
A diet for dummies would surely be welcomed by anyone who has been struggling to lose weight for any amount of time. Not that we are saying that people who have not succeeded in reaching their weight loss goals are dummies, but for most of them they will have tried everything from fad diets to healthy eating plans and still feel as if they have had information overload yet not got anywhere with that information.
And possibly it is because of the amount of conflicting information out there that makes it so difficult to focus on losing weight because everyone seems to contradict each other with their views and research and then ultimately just blame the whole thing on genetics and say that you must be born to be fat. It si my belief though that a diet for dummies would contain some straight forward information about food choices and lifestyle and once they are accepted then the weight will come off.
Lets face it we know when we are eating the wrong type of food and we also know when we are overeating. Quite often we overeat because the food we are eating has been made and is not real food and because of this there are chemicals in there that stop our brains from working properly and us stopping eating. So, the first diet for dummies step is eat real food, no more processed junk – if you cant look at it and recognize what it is don't eat it.
Next thing we need to do is make sure we are not eating sugar and foods made from white flour. The reason for this is when you consume these kinds of foods the body burns them instead of the fat and then leaves you craving for more. The irony of this is that more often than not when you buy low fat foods that have been ready made they are jammed with sugar and salt to make up in flavor for the fat that has been taken out – I would recommend you avoid low fat foods at all costs because of this.
Next in our diet for dummies guide is exercise. If you really want to lose weight you have to increase your metabolism and that means exercise. Interestingly one of the best forms of exercise is weight training as this increases your amount of lean muscle tissue and this in turn means that your resting metabolism works faster so you are still burning off fat even when you are not at the gym. If you don't fancy that just make sure you move a lot so walk rather than take the car, take the stairs instead of the elevator.
The bottom line is that a lot of this is just common sense and deep down you know these things already, the difference now is take this as a diet for dummies, but don't be a dummy and not follow the steps – take action and you will reach your goal.
